McLean, Va. — April 24, 2008 — i2 Inc., the leading provider of visual investigative analysis software, today announced that a definitive agreement has been reached that provides for the company's acquisition from its current parent ChoicePoint, Inc., by Silver Lake Sumeru, a private equity firm specializing in software and high-tech investments.
The transaction is expected to be complete this summer, and is subject to customary regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. Once the transaction closes, i2 will once again become an independent company. Paul Holroyd, who currently leads i2's International operations, has been named chief executive officer (CEO). The company and its owner investor group will provide strong continuity by maintaining i2's current primary operations bases in McLean, VA, and Cambridge, U.K.
