Information Sharing

Analyst's Notebook can also be used by investigative agencies to share information internally and with cooperating organizations.

During an investigation, analysts can search multiple structured data sources via a single query from within Analyst's Notebook by using i2 iXa Search AN, a component of iXa technology. The sources can be located anywhere: down the hall, across the street, or around the world. This allows for intra-agency and cross-agency information sharing while safeguarding the security and privacy of each participant's data.

Analysts can also use i2 ChartExplorer 2 to locate valuable Analyst's Notebook charts and documents residing on internal computers and file servers. This facilitates the sharing of existing intelligence and reduces duplication of effort.

Once information has been analyzed, internal groups or cooperating agencies can integrate their findings by combining charts in Analyst's Notebook. Matching entities are automatically merged, cards updated and new links established. The underlying data remain intact and chart attributes can be color coded to signify which group or agency contributed the data. To eliminate duplication of investigative resources, specific areas of the investigation can visually be divided on the chart.

Analyst's Notebook charts can also serve as briefing tools. They quickly communicate complex information to individuals within your organization and in cooperating agencies. They can be shared electronically with those who do not have Analyst's Notebook using i2's free ChartReader.

The result is an information sharing environment where each participant has access to all relevant information and analysis.
